The theme for World Environment Day 2021 is “Ecosystem Restoration” and will see the launch of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Ecosystem restoration can take many forms: Growing trees, greening cities, rewilding gardens, changing diets or cleaning up rivers and coasts. Ecosystem restoration is described as “a system of reversing the degradation of ecosystems, including landscapes, lakes and oceans to regain their ecological functionality; in different words, to enhance the productiveness and potential of ecosystems to satisfy the desires of society. Ecosystem healing way preventing, halting, and reversing this damage – to move from exploiting nature to recuperation it. Ecosystem restoration at a worldwide scale is essential if we're to mitigate the volume of the ecological disaster that we're presently facing, and guard the biodiversity for destiny generations.
